 Main characteristics : (Basin overview).

 

v      Test zone : length = 24 m , width= 16 m

 

v      Movable bottom:

 

                  -Variable depth : from 0 to 5 m , with a slope of 7 m

 

- Central pit : depth 10 m, diameter 5 m

 

 

v      XY carriage :

        

         Maximum speed    longitudinal=1.2 m

                                            Transversal=0.8 m

 

v      Waves generation:

 

                  -12 independents waves makers

 

- Regular and irregular waves –Periods from 0.7 s to 3.0 s – Heights up : 0,8 m

 

- Oblique regular waves

 

 

v      Current generation:

 

                 - 12 electrics pumps

 

                 - Waves direction and opposite direction

 

                 - Maximal flow : 25 m3/s

 

                 - Maximum speed , 3 m depth(optimum) : direct=0.4 m/s

                                                                                                  indirect=0.25 m/s

 

 

v      Wind generation:

 

                - Maximum speed= 7 m/s (any directions)

 

                   XY mobil carriage

 

                - Allows to fix a trjectory to a model

 

                - Maximum speed : longitudinal = 1,5 m/s, transversal = 0,8 m/s

 

 

v      Shock absorber:

 

                - Longitudinal : parabolic beach which does not disturb the current

 

                - Laterals: die down the reflected waves and the ones diffracted by the models.
