    TEST FACILITIES FOR THE VALUATION OF COMPLEX MARITIME STRUCTURES

    Objectives :
    BGO FIRST is a multipurpose basin mainly dedicated to maritime structures studies used in offshore oil industry and coastal engineering. These studies based on reduced scale model tests allow the determination of these structures behavior facing complex marine environment and their performances assessment.

    Width : 16m
    Depth of water : 0 to 5 m
    Central well : 10 m of depth, 5 m of diameter

  • Waves generation :
  • Type : Regular or irregular (PM, Jonswap , Ochi-Hubble, Gaussian, White noise …)
    Maximum height : 0.8 m
    Periods : 0.6 s à 4 s

  • Current generation :
  • Direction : wave propagation or opposite
    Max velocity : Function of the water dept h (up to 1.2m/s for a depth of 1m)

  • Wind generation :
  • Maximum speed : 5 m/s
    Direction : 0 to 360 deg

  • Movable floor :
  • Depth : 0 to 5 m
    Inclination : +/- 4 deg

  • Motorized tests bridge :
  • Longitudinal speed : 1.2m/s
    Transversal speed : 0.8m/s
    This bridge allows to impose to models de fined trajectory thank to its close loop control

  • Current velocity increase by means of a convergent
    6DDL motion generator
    Dynamic Positioning system
