Numerical bi-dimensionnal model of diffraction by a semi immersed caisson



Detailed description :

This numerical model is used to model the wave diffraction by a caisson. The problem is solved according to the linearized potential theory. It allows the obtention a linear expression of the potentials in the domain #1, #2 and #3 (see hereunder)

This model can be used with closed caisson or “Jarlan” caisson with one or several perforated walls. In this case the method takes into account the energy losses due to the flow through the walls.

This model works for:

  • Monochromatic waves with normal incidence
  • Potential flow in the different domains
  • Evanescent modes are taken into account

The results are:

  • The reflection coefficient
  • The transmission coefficient
  • The potential expression in the different domains
