The Territory of Polynesia Frenchwoman envisages the realization of a new harbour of trade in Tahiti. The site of Faratea, located on the Northeast facade of Isthmus which links up Tahiti-Nui and Tahiti-Iti, was kept for the establishment of this new harbour. The hold of basins constituting the harbour will stretch over the lagoon of Taravao. Eventually, the harbour will be constituted of a basin opened on the southeast protected by a seawall 1700 metres in lengths and of one against - seawall 430 metres in lengths. The depths of establishment of the outside seawall will be able to attain 35 metres in the area around the pierhead.

The Establishment of Big Jobs (EGT) entrusted to Océanide a certain number of studies and of hydrodynamic tries to know the heaves of dimensionnement of future work, after their spread on the platier protecting the lagoon. Further to numerical studies (Cf. does numerical modelling), Océanide modelled a party of the lagoon and the reef for 2 impact of heave. Objective being to know the height of heave in the right of future work.
